The Mercy of Allah

Without His mercy, we would be crushed by the wrath of Allah.

16:61 If Allah were to punish Men for their wrong-doing, He would not leave, on the (earth), a single living creature: But He gives them respite or a stated Term: when their Term expires, they would not be able to delay (the punishment) for a single hour, just as they would not be able To anticipate it (for a single hour).

This is because it is in our very nature to be evil. Praise Allah that He did bestow His Mercy upon us; that He is 'oft-forgiving'.

12:53 Yet I do not absolve myself (Of blame): the (human) soul Certainly incites evil, Unless my Lord do bestow His Mercy: but surely My Lord is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful!

We must persevere then, asking forgiveness for our faults and celebrating our Lord.

40:55 Patiently, then, persevere: for the Promise of Allah Is true: and ask forgiveness for thy fault, and celebrate the Praises of thy Lord In the evening and in the morning.
47:19 Know, therefore, that there is no god but Allah, and ask forgiveness for your fault, and for the men and women who believe: for Allah knows how you move about and how you dwell in your homes.
